Rev. Glenn Shepherd, Pastor of Campbell AME Church
The Reverend Glenn Shepherd is the son of Moses and Terry Shepherd of Marion, South Carolina. He was born and raised in Philadelphia with his three brothers: Gary, Samuel and Moses who is deceased. He is married to Deborah Rochelle Wilson-Shepherd of Philadelphia, PA and they are the proud parents of four daughters: Katrina Terrace Shepherd-Bey, Nakia Terrell Shepherd-Thomas, Glenda Lynnell Shepherd-Robinson and Desiree' Sara-Marie Shepherd. He also has three Sons-in-Law: Rashaan Bey, Brandon Robinson and Curtis L. Thomas and five grandchildren: Shawn, Kayla, Saniyah, Brianna, and Mekhi.
Reverend Shepherd was raised in Philadelphia, PA and attended public school and graduated from South Philadelphia High School in June 1966 and went on to Community College in May 1977 where he graduated with and Associate Degree in Business Management. He finished his undergraduate work at LaSalle College in 1980, graduating with a Baccalaureate Degree in Production Management and completed his Master of Divinity in May 2002 at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.
Reverend Shepherd was employed by the United States Army Reserve and retired in July 2008 with the civilian ranking of GS12. His previous Pastoral charge was with the good people of First African Methodist Episcopal Church, Darby Township, Sharon Hill, PA where he served for seven wonderful years. He received his new Pastoral Appointment to Campbell African Methodist Episcopal Church in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, PA on June 20, 2009.
His favorite Bible verses are Psalms 27:13, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." and Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." In other words, "God has a plan for our lives."
